With the financial issues GM is dealing with right now, a lot of planned projects have been put on hold. One of which is the half-ton 4500 Duramax. Do you think we'll ever end up seeing this engine?

I sure hope so. I was really looking forward to that engine. I'd heard nothing but good things about it in terms of how smooth it was, how much power it had, what great mileage it got. I hope we might see it in 2011 or 2012. That is if Emperor Barack deems it worthy!

I sure hope so too. Then we'll have to deal with the thorny question of whether a magazine called "8-Lug" can do articles about a diesel truck that doesn't have eight lugs......

Well, I think part of the original plan was to offer it in the Hummer H2 (8 lugs) but that doesn't look like it's going to happen at this point. Maybe you need to do an SIP...."6-Lug Diesel."

Ehhem... April 2009 Cover truck..."Overnight Shop Truck"... 24" 10-lug "semi" wheels... So how would a 6-lug with a diesel be any different?
My guess on the 4.5 is we will see it after the baby Cummins and Powerstroke come out. I would put money that Dodge pulls out the V-8 Cummins, followed by Ford who will then bring out the 4.4 to compete, and at that point GM will have no choice but to loose market share or bring to life the 4.5.
That's just my guess anyway.
