Have you guys noticed the change? Check out the cover - it's gone from 8-Lug Diesel Truck to 8-Lug HD Truck. What do you guys think of this? Good, bad? Doesn't matter?

does HD stand for heavy duty because now it isn't focused around just diesels but any 3/4 ton or 1 ton truck?

Nothing against diesels, but I think you're going to see big gassers make a comeback. I've seen some pretty cool new technology coming down the pipeline for 3/4 and 1-ton gas trucks.

Well, percentage-wise, the majority of HD trucks still sold are diesels. I'd say just about the only reason someone WOULDN'T get a diesel is 'cause the monthly payments were too high, or they work for a company with an all-gas fleet. Starting to see more CNG conversions on HD trucks.

We use CNG on the Chevy 6.0 HD's at work... those things are gutless, and the CNG makes it worse.

Yeah, pure CNG might be gutless, but I've heard when you combine CNG and diesel, they have great performance AND fuel economy, AND cleaner emissions! Only downside is having that big honking tank in the truck.

Mag should have both gas and diesel articles. the only difference is the engines, everything else is the same.... Great mag...keep up the good work.....!!!!!!!! Have no payments on any vehicles that I have ever owned. Just can't justify the cost of a diesel engine...only thing missing. Dan

To give you an idea of what I'm talking about, check out Pickuptruck.com's post about Ford's "Bobcat" dual-fuel engine concept. 5.0L, 500 hp, 750 lb./ft.
Here's another concept by engineering firm Ricardo. 3.2L V-6 with up to 450 hp and 660 lb./ft!
